Carpenter Ant Infestation

Infestations are most likely to occur in areas of the home that accumulate moisture, such as around the windows, porches and roof eaves. Carpenter ants can also form "satellite" nests, which are not used for protecting eggs, in completely dry wood. Signs of carpenter ant activity include the presence of swarming and worker ants indoors (especially in winter time), leftover frass from their tunneling and a soft rustling sound inside the walls.
